Castlevania: Order Of Ecclesia

This is my first game review, so woot, I'm not sure how my format is gonna go yet, but I'll figure it out. I've been able to gain more access to my library's comps as well as a better understanding of how to use this thing so I'mma try and write here more cuz this shit is really fun.

So this is a game I bought when I was homeless in Ohio around a month and a half ago or so. It really helped kill boredom and it really is a great game.

Castleroids has been a nickname that has been given to this specific title because of the fact that this game has multiple areas unlike previous Castlevanias which would have the entire game in Dracula's castle this one allows you to go to different smaller areas and than finally to Dracula's Castle which is also huge...but nowhere near as big as previous Dracula castles.

This game changes a lot of things from previous Castlevania entries, it removes the partner system from Portrait Of Ruin which I somewhat appreciate yet don't. While the partner system in that game was great, Castlevania isn't that type of game IMO. This game also removes all weapons...completely. This is the first Castlevania to not feature weapons, instead you can equip two Glyphs, or as many of us know em', souls.

Now the Glyphs can be weapons Glyphs or magic, or w/e so usually we find ourselves equipping one weapon Glyph and one magic glyph, or in some cases two magic glyphs, or two weapon glyphs.

I found this Castlevania's possibilities of strategies with quite a good depth and the ability to have three different sets equipped helps. Although armor doesn't change with the changed set, which is bull...<__<

Obviously you will wanna change your armor to accommodate the style you're trying to achieve with each set. Which I mean...this idea was featured in the previous Castlevanias...so why not carry it over here?

There's two characters you can play in this game, one must be unlocked first, he's the guy with the gun....<_< I forgot his name, and the gal. Who's the main character.

Shit I forgot both their names to be frank...FML.

W/e. The graphics are kick ass as usual, not as interesting as previous Castlevanias on the DS but still good. I would have to say this is probably the worst Castlevania to come out on the DS, but that doesn't mean it's bad by a long shot.

Dawn Of Sorrow and Portrait Of Ruin were just pure brilliance is all. The characters in this game to be really honest, are boring or more boring than most Castlevania characters, the girl is probably the only remotely interesting character. Hell fucking Dracula is not shown until the final boss fight and there is no back story for him given. It's just go and defeat him at the end....that's pretty much it.

The boss fights in this game to be really honest....are really easy compared to previous Castlevanias.

One boss in this game is a complete waste of time, all you have to do is absorb his soul and he'll die and that takes around 5 seconds you know what you're doing. <___< However, that's not to say that there's not a lot of bosses and I'm sure we all have our faves from this game, my personal fave is of course Death or the Shadow boss...forgot his name, but he was a REAL Castlevania boss, meaning he was actually tough, meaning I had to try more than 5 times to beat him.

Story sucks ass, combat is chill, but they seriously lack physical weapons, there's like 15 in total in this game...and it's Rapier, Knife, Scythe, Sword and the big sword....and three versions of each.

And those versions if you wanna know....weak, medium, strong. And you just put the best one on there, so only 5 really. And there's not much that magic either, honestly compared to previous Castlevanias this seems like a downgrade.

It got bigger yea, but I feel that I only put around 20 hours into this game because they just made it harder to get rare souls and items in this game.

Yeah that's right...they made it even harder, I hate how they make games harder now a days by doing cheap things like making probabilities lower, or giving enemies more health or making them more damage instead of making it actually harder. I had my luck at 51 at the end of this game, and I still was having difficulties getting 4 star items.

-___-

But this game has a nifty training hall thing which has intense platforming....the first time you do this. After you get it down, it's easy as crud. The magnet ability is amazing in the game, it works well for a Castlevania game.

The training hall is also quite challenging, it takes a while to get it down, and the enemies I found here are harder than the bosses in Boss Rush mode....it's that ridiculous, the training hall is pretty hard, it's probably the hardest thing int his game.

Dracula....is not. He take around 5 mins to beat the first time you play him.

Overall though this game is great, and was fun to play, it is a skill based platforming RPG, that has depth in it's combat. A mix of Megaman and Metroid, as well as Zelda and Final Fantasy. Castlevania still got it. x]

Casa De Chihuahua

Great folk punk band that I used to and still listen to back in my hobo days. :]

It's mostly acoustic guitar strumming, vocals aren't AMAZING but they work well for the type of music presented. Also the lyrics are phenomenal.

Also I payed two dollars to access the intrawebz at the library for a year....eh, that's not so bad. :]

Their first album Amat Victoria Curam is amazing BTW, that's the one I listen to, the second one is aight....

Brawl Tourney

Went to my first Brawl tourney today, it was friggin awesome. Top playors galore...well somewhat, Ally, ADHD, Atomsk were there. Those are in the top 5 on AIB I know that much. Other top players were also there, like Ebo, Inui, and so on....<,<

I lost my first matches and got kicked out early, I played against Eazy-E and Cloudzero both great. I got to meet tons of people, someone even knew me just by my name from AIB and I had no idea who they were.

I didn't lose badly and fared well against good people in tourny matches, and in friendlies I did pretty awesome, playing ADHD's Peach in dittos was mad fun and intense. Although he beat my Peach this time around...=(

To be fair, I will john, I was homeless for a while with no Brawl and came back to playing against my bro with no online than just stopped playing Brawl altogether and only played one day before this tourney. So fuck you all, I think I did great for how much I practiced. <,<

Also met some guy who listens to not only Streelight Manifesto but Leftover Crack and other Ska and Punk bands as well! D:

Awesome. I have his email I'mma give him some bands and he'll give me some bands.

No Ca$h

Probably the greatest band to ever exist....I would say this if I didn't have the greatest inside joke of Blink 182 being the greatest band ever....which I firmly believe...seriously...no joke. Blink 182 is the best.

But after Blink is this band, and it's only fitting that I enter them as my first blog entry. If you have not heard of them yet...than you are missing out on so much. Some of the most moving, well thought out music to ever grace the 90's...or well ever.

Their first and only album release Run Your Pockets is the undeniably the best album to ever have graced my ears. Songs like Life Sucks, Knowledge Is Power, Wilkes-Booth Style and so mix a great diversity of profoundly moving lyrics as well as catchy and original punk, ska, and metal style beats.

This band does do a great job of mixing those genres in together, although I wouldn't say their songs are all mixes of those three genres, it's like one song will be very metal and punk and another will be very ska and punk. It's mostly straight forward heavy punk however with after touches of other genres.

The lyrics are very prepubescent, I must warn. It's a lot of shit about bitching about life, Homelife Is A Drag is a great song that 14 yr olds would love, I also enjoy em' however cuz well let's face it, Homelife Is A Drag. School fucking sucks ass, life seems to suck for the most part, and it's not like it's just random bitching, it's bitching with knowledge.

Which people hate, cuz than you gotta point. But you can't do anything about it, which makes them realize something....

:]

They also released a split with Team Spider...which is a pretty bad band...although funny, they suck ass. Regardless the first half of the split and two or three Team Spider songs are pretty good. Annihlation Of The Nation was released on this one as well Kill Yer Parents, Cashless And Pathetic and This Shit's Forever. All amazing beyond words, especially that first one and Cashless And Pathetic, all of those were not released on Run Your Pockets. So it's highly recommended you download both these releases.

I absolutely love this band, and have been listening to them ever since I was 18 or so....and I'm 20 now, so two years or so. I've garnered probably over 500 listens if not more for each of their songs and I still fucking love them. Greatest fucking band ever.....aside from Blink 182 of course.

This is the discography link, it also has their demos and other stuff. They sound different and I'd check em' out just to see what you like, I like their Cashless And Pathetic release on CBGB's release.

Regardless here's the link:

Also Run Your Pockets the final song....is pure amazing. Godly lyrics, great ending, the screaming and what not might turn off some who are not used to it, but if you're willing to give em' a chance I know you will love them. When I first introduced this band to others before they started off being thrown off by Chris's screaming and stuff...after a month of listening to it they were singing along.

Lyrics can be Googled if you need to know what he's saying. Enjoy.

Also this band is dead now, the former lead singer and rhythym guitarist Chris Cash has made a new band called Mad Conductor which I shall talk about later. It's also pretty amazing.

Blog Start

I am going to start blogging...pretty much I'll just write about random shit every day. It'll be fun and enjoyable for masses....or for myself. This is for various reasons, one is to kill my boredom, another is it helps me keep track of shit, and two is it's fun and I love hearing people's opinion on shit.

The blog will more than likely focus on things such as reviews of music, video games, movies, TV shows, random shit, stuff about my life, states and what not....

Eh I'll be making my first blog entry that will show the type of things I will be doing today. The first one will just be a wall of text praising the best band ever No Ca$h and giving links to their shit. Hope you enjoy this blog. Also I might be updating my /fb/ notes and other random shit that I've previously entered into this blog...who knows.
